[FR] Ernest & Celestine
There is a world where the Bears live above ground in their cities and the rodents live below in their underground ones in mutual fear and hate. However, Celestine, an apprentice mouse dentist, finds at least momentary common cause with Ernest, a poor street Bear musician, that gets them rejected from both their respective worlds. In spite of this misfortune, the exiles find a growing friendship between themselves as their respective talents flower because of it. Despite this, their quietly profound challenge to the founding prejudices of their worlds cannot be ignored as the authorities track them down. When that happens, Ernest and Celestine must stand up for their love in the face of such bigotry and achieve the impossible.

David Bowie: Finding Fame
David Bowie’s death in January 2016 felt like a major milestone. He was one of the most influential music artists of his generation, but Bowie before the creation of Ziggy Stardust, the alter ego that made him famous, remains largely unknown. This film follows five years of his early career, from the late 1960s through to the on-stage death of Ziggy Stardust in 1973. It shows how many of the ideas that originated during these early years and features never seen before archive interviews with some of Bowie’s earliest collaborators.

Ring of Death
Saw this one yesterday after reading the plot line. I was hoping for something similar to Prison Break but with a lot of action. This could have been made with a lot more effectiveness. Cop goes into prison as a convict to nab a bunch of crooks who run a fighting tournament and stream it Live on the internet – old wine in a new bottle. Still it could have been handled better. Weak dialogs and ineffective editing, only shows that very little effort has been spent on the script. Stunt scenes look powerful but that alone cant lift the whole thing up.Johnny Messner does a clean job – cannot complain about him. I was looking for something similar to Prison Break mashed up with some Urban Fight but sadly, the fight was present but the shrewdness of the Prison Break series was totally missing.

This movie takes a look at a Westernized suburban area in Japan in the late ’50s. It focuses mainly on the daily lives of a small community and the way its members interact. It also demonstrates the power of oral communication and the way in which small talk acts as a lubricant for our daily lives.

[FR] Subway
Fred is living in the Paris Metro system. He is blackmailing Helena, whose safe he has robbed. Fred has various ‘friends’ all living in this surreal setting. The Roller is a rollerskating bag snatcher and Big Bill is a ‘strongman’. The blackmail and Freds relationship with Helena and her heavies make up the bulk of the plot but on the side are Freds attempts to start a band using buskers from the Metro.
